Producers Boyett Ostar and Robert Fox will present Billy Crudup,
Jeff Goldblum, Zeljko Ivanek, and
Michael Stuhlbarg in The National Theatre of Great Britain's Olivier
Award-winning production of Martin McDonagh's The Pillowman,
opening Sunday, April 10th at the Booth Theatre (222 W 45th St). Directed by
John Crowley, The Pillowman begins preview performances
on Monday, March 21st.
The Pillowman is McDonagh's exhilarating and viciously funny new comedy-drama about a
fiction writer (Billy Crudup) in a totalitarian state who is interrogated
(by Jeff Goldblum and Zeljko Ivanek)
about the gruesome content of his short stories, and their similarities to a number of bizarre incidents occurring
in his town.

The Pillowman had its world premiere on November 13, 2003 at The National Theatre, where
it quickly became one of the most sought after theatrical events in London's West End. It received the 2004
Olivier Award and an Evening Standard Award nomination for Best New Play.
Playwright Martin McDonagh is best known for his "Connemara Trilogy" – The Beauty Queen of
Leenane (winner of four 1998 Tony Awards), A Skull in Connemara, and The Lonesome
West.
The Pillowman features scenic and costume design by Scott Pask,
lighting design by Brian MacDevitt, sound design by Paul Arditti and music
by Paddy Cunneen.
